A Glamourous Engagement

Part two, of our collaboration with Wedding Photographer Sara Jozsa, is all about the accessories! When is a better time to show off your favorite, or signature pieces? We aren't just referring to a statement piece of jewellery that’s been passed down for generations, or your newly acquired ring. Simple accessories, like shoes and jewellery, can add variation to your photos without an entire outfit change.
Accessories can be ANYTHING! They are sometimes the best when you think outside the box. Bring your pet along for your shoot, or if you have a prized vehicle, or love to play an instrument – arrange to have your photos taken with it. Extra items in your photos are an easy and fun way of bringing out your personality as a couple. (Of course PLEASE talk over your ideas with your photographer and make sure you have arrangements made if you do want to branch out with you photo “props”).
If you’re opting for a super glam engagement session remember, it’s not just the ladies who can get dressed up! I recommend keeping it fairly basic for the guys but I certainly encourage them to showcase their style. Sticking to classic colored dress pants, a solid shirt and dress shoes is  always the best bet. You don’t want your outfits to be competing with each other. Blazers, pocket squares, and vests are a nice touch to an outfit but the guys should wear what feels comfortable to them.
Southern Comfort

I was absolutely thrilled when local Wedding Photographer, Sara Jozsa, reached out to Rich Rats.  She wanted to work on a piece for her blog readers on what to wear for an engagement photo shoot. After a quick scroll through her work, I was hooked on her style of photography. It's not too often you meet someone who shares the exact same vision as you and can finish your sentence when describing how you want the image to look.
I'm thrilled with how our collaboration turned out.
-----------------

The thought of what to wear for your engagement photos can be overwhelming for some brides. You’ll have those pictures forever and you certainly don’t want to look back and have a “what was I thinking?!” moment. The best thing I can think of to tell a bride is to be yourself. I created this store off of the idea of catering to two sides of a woman; the glamorous part that loves getting dressed up and the grunge part that favors the casual side of clothing.

Just like my store concept, your engagement photos should reflect the side of you that feels most comfortable. Don’t feel pressure to dress a certain way because you’ve seen a photo on Pinterest; especially if it doesn’t reflect the life you life with your fiancé!

We have created a three part series because we know brides do not come in a "one size fits all". Are you glam, grunge, or a little bit country?

Sip & Shop Saturday
We had a great time last Saturday with PRIM Health and Beauty.
Our Sip & Shop was a huge success and we are so happy to have received such positive feedback about the event.

We have to thank Jerilyn and her staff for being such gracious hosts who made all our shoppers feel welcomed. We fully recommend checking out their beautiful space and services they offer. They make you feel like family.

It was also such a treat, literally, to have Jen from Bake join us with her scrumptious macaroons. We are completely hooked on them and love the fact she uses all natural ingredients. Thanks Jen for sharing your baking secrets of how you get such amazing natural flavors.

Keep checking back for more details about our next PRIM event.
